The Federation Council again proposes to introduce a new tax on movable property. This was stated by Vice-Speaker Council Nikolay Zhuravlev, reports “Parliamentary newspaper”.
According to him, such a measure will allow to compensate for regional and local budgets income that fell after the introduction of business benefits. The representative of the department also recalled that the tax on movable property was canceled from January 1, 2019.
Earlier in March, the organization “Support of Russia” appealed to the Ministry of Finance with a request to refuse the idea to return the tax on movable property, which was canceled in 2019. The President of the organization Alexander Kalinin said that the initiative would be a big problem for small and medium-sized businesses. In addition, an increase in the tax base will occur in terms of income fall due to the effects of coronavirus pandemic.
For the first time, the possibility of re-introducing the tax on movable property appeared in the document “The main directions of the budget, tax and customs and tariff policy”, which concerns the period of 2021-2023 and was presented in September 2020. In addition, in February, the Soviet Committee appealed to the Federation Council and the State Duma with a request to return the tax. Deputies indicated that his cancellation did not bring results in the form of updating fixed assets.
