Speaking about the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that he sees the light at the end of the tunnel. Her words leads the Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper.
Merkel stressed that in the current situation, one criticism would not achieve anything, it is necessary to act. The German leader called on people to optimism and resistance. “It will take several months, but the light is already visible at the end of the tunnel. We will defeat the virus,” the politician said.
Earlier, Merkel stated that the incidence of COVID-19 is growing in Europe, and the damage to the economy of the block of countries is huge. She described the damage to the EU economy as “colossal” and clarified that the EU Recovery Fund created is a unite event.
Merkel also supported centralized purchasing and supply of vaccines to block countries. According to her, if countries were doing without coordination between themselves, it would be “shocked to the depths of” the internal market of the European Union.
