Russia warned Canada from “Sanction Language”

The Russian Embassy in Ottawa appreciated the sanctions imposed by Canada on the eve and warned this country from the “Sanction Language”. The chairman of the diplomission reports TASS.

According to the diplomat, new limitations are absolutely illegitimate from the point of view of international law and are meaningless in terms of pressure on Russia. “Talking with us the language of sanctions counterproductively,” he said, stressing that this “unfriendly step” would not remain without a “adequate answer.”

Canada introduced sanctions against nine officials from Russia in the case of Alexey Navalny (founder of the Foundation for the fight against corruption included in the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the register of organizations performing functions of a foreign agent). The introduced restrictions provide for a ban on doing business with the property of Russian officials, as well as providing them with financial or related services. Nine Russians from the list will not be able to enter Canada under the Law on Immigration and Refugee Protection. The Kremlin announced these sanctions out of law and stated that Moscow will take response.
