The World Bank has suffered a forecast for the growth of GDP of Russia. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the organization’s report.
According to the assessment of the Institute of Development, in 2021, the Russian economy will increase by 2.9 percent, and in the next – by 3.2 percent. Back in January, the organization believed that Russia’s GDP would increase by 2.6 percent this year, while in the next – by 3 percent. It is noted that the reasons for improving the forecast are less than expected, the reduction of the Russian economy last year and the rapid removal of coronavirus constraints.
Earlier, the World Bank predicted the Russian economy a quick recovery from the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic. The authors of the organization’s report pay attention to the fact that in recent years, the Russian authorities have consistently made efforts to reduce debt burden, and also tried to mitigate the dependence on the variability of energy prices, in particular at the expense of the budget rule.
