About 400 Indian special forces fell into a deadly ambush to the Maoist rebels, the death of the dead grows. It is reported by the Times of India.
Collision occurred on April 3. In the jungle in the area of Bijapur (Chhattisgarh in India) militants-Maoista attacked the security forces division. The number of victims is growing so far: according to the latest data, 23 people died, and 33 were injured. In battle, 12 Maoists were also killed, 16 more – injured.
The Indian special forces included in the number of fighters from the elite special forces of Cobra (Cobra, Commando Battalion for Resolute Action). They had to fight back, before reinforcement came. According to the survivors, there were about 400 militants in the ambush. They suddenly shot surrounded from mortars and automata.
Maoista-Naxalites operate in India since the 1960s. They promote their version of Maosima and Marxism-Leninism, their terrorist activity is one of the highest in the world. The militants are hiding in the jungle and attack villages, officials and policemen. The authorities of the country consider the Maoists of one of the main threats to the country’s security.
