In Belarus, the bank accounts of the former presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya were blocked. About this on April 5 informs her Telegram channel.
Tikhanovskaya appealed to Belarusbank to find out the reason for what happened. The Bank’s employee stated that the account was blocked “as part of measures to freeze funds of individuals included in the list of involved in terrorist action.”
The report states that recently only a social pension of a disabled child, which was 223 Belarusian ruble per month (almost 6.5 thousand Russian rubles).
On April 2, the KGB of Belarus made Tikhanovskaya and another 17 people in the list of terrorists. According to the authorities, the ex-candidate and other oppositionists tried to arrange explosions and arsons in Minsk and other cities.
Belarusian opposition, in turn, requested the largest foreign financial institutions to block the accounts of state banks – Belarusbank and Belinvestbank – for the support of President Alexander Lukashenko.
