Correction of ISS orbit

In accordance with the Flight Program of the International Space Station on April 2, 2021, experts from the Center for Flight Management TsNIIMASH (part of the state corporation “Roskosmos”) conducted a correction of its orbit. For this, the engines of the Transport Cargo Ship “Progress MS-14”, docked to the service module “Star” of the Russian segment of the ISS, were included in the automatic mode at 15:14 Moscow time. The magnitude of the impulse was 0.21 m / s.

Space truck engines worked 129.3 seconds so that the average height of the station orbits increased by 0.36 km and amounted to 419.8 km. Currently, the specialists of the Ballistic-navigation provision service provision of the CUNIIMASH is analyzed by the released telemetry information and clarify the parameters of the ISS orbit.

This maneuver was performed for the formation of ballistic conditions before planting the Soyuz MS-17 ship and before the launch of the Soyuz MS-18 ship, which was scheduled for April 9, 2021. Oleg Novitsky, Peter Dubrov, and Astronaut NASA Mark Wanda Hai will go on it on it. Currently, the crew of the 64th long expedition is on board the international space station as part of the astronauts of Roscosmos Sergey Ryzhikov and Sergey Kudzchkova, as well as NASA astronauts Kathleen Rubins, Michael Hopkins, Viktor Glover, Shannon Walker and Astronaut Jaxa Socychi Roots.
