Russia: stated conditions for termination of “brain drain”

The Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Valery Falkov called the conditions that will stop the “leakage of the brain” – the emigration of Russian scientists abroad. According to the head of the department, only the increase in salary for specialists will not be enough. His words reports RBC.

He noted that at present in Russia there is reviewed approach to the formation of salaries of scientists. According to the minister, the important task of the department is to provide the minimum job salary for scientists, monitor and control the incentive payments and allowances available at the institutes.

“Only a matter of wage to increase the efficiency of science not to raise. Without the presence of equipment, without the presence of an interesting team and unique tasks – we will not achieve that we have strong universities in the regions. So that we do not leave abroad “,” said Falkov.

The head of the department reminded about the importance of an effective leader at the university. According to him, it is significantly how the leader is the right task to employees and can be engaged in the workflow itself. At the same time, Falkov added that he considers the wrong budget financing of institutions wrong. He believes that Russian scientists do not know how to sell their products to business and thus build cooperation.

Earlier, Deputy Governor of the Novosibirsk Region, Irina Manuilova, announced the imminent introduction of a minimum level of salary for young scientists at 17-20 thousand rubles. She called such a salary for young specialists sufficient.
