Operator “Northern Flow-2” announced provocations in construction zone

Director of the Kingisppsky branch of Nord Stream 2 AG Andrei Minin reacted to the presence of warships in the construction zone of the North Stream-2 gas pipeline, stating provocations. His words leads RBC.

According to the representative of the operator of the gas pipeline, the ships participating in the construction of “Northern Flow-2” are subjected to “explicitly planned and prepared” provocations in which not only fishing vessels are involved, but also military ships. According to Minin, the goal of such provocations is to prevent the construction of the gas pipeline. “This is perhaps the first and unprecedented case of this kind in history,” said Minin.

Director of the branch also recalled the 1.5-mile security zone, which is established when implementing such projects. At the same time, the presence of military ships of foreign states is constantly recorded in the immediate vicinity of technical vessels, which are constantly recorded.

Earlier on April 1, it was reported that in the construction zone of the Northern Flow-2, there is an increased activity of foreign warships. At the same time, Nord Stream 2 AG stated that the actions of foreign courts are provocative and can damage the gas pipeline. It also became known that an unidentified submarine was noticed in the gas pipeline construction zone.

Gas pipeline “Northern Stream-2” from Russia to Germany for the bottom of the Baltic Sea should be passed back at the end of 2019. However, the implementation of the project prevented, in particular, the threat of sanctions by the United States, due to which European companies began to leave.
