Manufacturers in Russia wanted to change the recipe for special beers, write “Vedomosti”. The corresponding offer is directed by the Ministry of Finance.
The initiative was made by the Association of Beer Manufacturers (APP). It proposes to change the requirements for the drink “Special Beer” in the Profile Technical Regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union (EES).
According to brewers, in a special beer, the minimum level of malt content should be reduced. Now it is equal to 80 percent, the rest should have to fruit and berry and vegetable raw materials, as well as taste-aromatic additives.
In the new regulations, it is proposed to establish the minimum content of brewing malt at the level of 50 percent. Another 30 percent will be on sacrament-containing products. In addition, manufacturers are asked to allow adding flavors, grain, fruit and berry and vegetable raw materials at the cooking stage.
Initiative authors said that innovations would allow the categories of special beers of drinks, which, according to the current rules, are not considered a beer at all, including such, the fortress of which exceeds seven degrees prescribed in the law. In this case, they can be produced in Russia or imported from abroad.
