United States has thought about increasing military contingent in Afghanistan

The United States thought about increasing the number of contingent in Afghanistan before finally bring the troops. This was stated at the briefing the official representative of Pentagon John Kirby, reports TASS.

“I can’t speak now specifically, since the plans are still being developed, but it is possible that auxiliary forces in Afghanistan will be sent for a short period of time to ensure a safe, ordered and planned conclusion to the extreme deadlines established by the President”, – said Kirby.

He recalled that US President Joe Biden established the sentence of the army until September. The representative of the Pentagon also brought an example of the conclusion of troops from Iraq and added that the servicemen may require a logistical assistance, such as engineering.

According to Kirby, Washington can temporarily send some forces to ensure protection and safe and efficient contingent waste process. He concluded that he would finally become clear as the scheduled date approaches.

Earlier, Biden confirmed that the United States would bring their troops from Afghanistan from May 1 to September 11. A similar solution was accepted by the NATO countries and the United Kingdom.
