The United States will be built in Norway infrastructure in order to follow Russia. This was stated by the Norwegian Defense Minister Frank Bakke-Jensen, he quoted The Barents Observer.
According to the head of the military department, the parties have already signed the appropriate agreement. Under the terms of the contract, Washington will be able to use three airfield and the Navy base (Navy), as well as build a hangar for patrol anti-submarine aircraft of the United States and NATO and a fuel supply system based on ramund.
Thus, the United States intends to follow the Russian submarines of the Northern Fleet. It is expected that by 2022, Norway will receive five antiquity aircraft P-8A Poseidon, which is currently building a company Boeing.
At the same time, Bakka-Jensen stressed that the agreement does not provide for the construction of American military bases and does not lead to escalation of tensions in relations with Russia. In addition, the document is spelled out that ships and aircraft arriving in Norway cannot carry nuclear weapons on board.
Earlier, the head of the Armed Forces of Norway, Eic Christoffersen, said that the war with Russia is the worst thing that can happen, but this is an unlikely version of the development of events. Christoffersen added that the dialogue could always lead to joint decisions, and in the relations of the Russian Federation with Norway and its allies should be reduced voltage.
