Russian confectioners warned retail about the growth of prices for candy and waffles. It is reported by RBC with reference to market players.
Significantly raise the cost of manufacturers forces the rise in prices for raw materials. It ranged from 25 to 120 percent over the past six months. The main ingredients are more expensive, of which there are sweets: flour, oil, eggs, jam jumped in price by 50 percent, sugar – by 120 percent.
As a result, the cost of production due to the rise in price of raw materials increased by an average of 10 percent. The influence on the rise in prices was also provided by China, which began to purchase raw materials with huge volumes, forming a global deficit for some positions. In addition, an increase in the cost of freight from the PRC is also affected.
The main categories of confectionery products for the year (from March to March) went up in stores on average by 2.5-8.5 percent. There are no grounds for further substantial increase in the cost of confectionery products, they are considered in the Ministry of Agriculture.
In April, Russians were warned of price increases in rice due to increased cultivation costs. The rices this year are expected to increase direct costs of up to 60-65 thousand rubles per hectare.
Previously, the authorities have allocated nine billion rubles on the subsidies to the manufacturers of sand sugar and sunflower oil. This will fix the cost of a kilogram of sugar at a level not higher than 36 rubles for wholesalers and 46 rubles for retailers, and one liter of oil – at 95 and 110 rubles, respectively.
