The Public Council for Development Taxi warned about the risks of the growth of the number of illegal taxis in Russia in the event of an increase in the tariffs of the OSAGO for business. This is stated in the letter of the organization directed to the Central Bank, write on Thursday, April 22, Izvestia.
According to the organization, previously insurers discussed the possibility of revising tariffs together with the Central Bank and the Ministry of Finance and insisted on their increase at least 60 percent for a taxi. Taxi Development Council in his letter warns the Central Bank that the increase in the cost of the policies can cause a mass transfer of carriers to the “gray” zone.
As noted by the Chairman of the Council Irina Zaripova, now the price of the OSAGO policy for a taxi car in Moscow is about 43 thousand rubles. The organization believe that the cost of insurance of the taxi car should not be 100 thousand rubles in the capital and 70 thousand rubles in the regions.
The press service of the Central Bank published that the regulator received a letter and studies it. At the same time, they added there, the initiative to increase insurance tariffs for a taxi by 60 percent in the Central Bank has not yet been received. They also recalled that the last time the tariffs were raised in September 2019 and by law their revision could not occur more often than once a year. In the meantime, the regulator did not begin to analyze the unprofitability to change the tariff corridor. At the same time, the regulator recognizes that taxi cars are more likely to fall into an accident, unlike passenger cars of individuals.
Earlier, the head of the traffic police Mikhail Chernikov said that in the last year in Russia, 20 percent increased the number of deaths in accidents with taxi drivers. He added that, in general, the statistics on incidents with taxi cars remained the same – the indicators are the same as they were in 2019-2020. At the same time, the agency has become more fixed deaths at similar collisions on the roads.
