Cosmonaut Alexander Laveykin celebrates anniversary

Today, April 21, 2021, marks 70 years of the Hero of the Soviet Union, the pilot-cosmonaut of the USSR Alexander Ivanovich Lajequin.

Alexander Laveykin has completed his space flight from February 6 to June 30, 1987 as a flight engineer of the Soyuz TM-2 spacecraft. During the flight, a lasting 174 day, Alexander Ivanovich made three exits in open space with a total duration of 8 hours of 48 minutes. For the successful implementation of the space flight on the Orbital Research Complex “Peace” and the courage and heroism of the cosmonaut Alexander Laiver Ivanovich, July 30, 1987, was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.

From 1990 to April 1991, Alexander Laveykin was trained in the group of astronauts under the Soyuz-Rescuer / Buran-92 program. It was in reserve before leaving the detachment in 1994.
