The official representative of the State Department Ned Price said that the United States did not receive official information on the response sanctions of Russia. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
According to him, there is no diplomatic correspondence in the State Department providing the details of the actions of the Russian authorities. The price also stressed again that Washington considers its actions “suitable and proportional” and reserves the right to respond to similar steps of Moscow.
Previously, the United States appreciated the ban on local workers in the Russian embassy. The official representative of the State Department said that local workers are an important part of the work of the embassy. “We would like to see a fully functioning embassy in the country,” he added.
April 15 US President Joe Biden signed a decree on the introduction of new sanctions against Russia. Restrictions touched individuals and legal entities. Among the grounds for their introduction, allegedly hostile activity of Russia in the cybersfer, interference in the elections in the United States or other foreign countries.
In response, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia published a list of sanctions against the United States. Moscow will refuse 10 American diplomats, measures will take measures to terminate the hiring of citizens of Russia and third countries to the Embassy or the Consulate General of the United States and will forbid American diplomats of the trip beyond the locations of their basing. It was also reported that the Kremlin advised Sullian to go home to consult on the current relations of the two countries.
