US Ambassador to Moscow confirmed his return to his homeland

US Ambassador in Moscow John Sullivan confirmed the data on his return to his homeland. It quotes TASS.

He noted that he is now going to Washington for consultations and return to Moscow in the coming weeks. The diplomat stressed that it is important for him to talk to new colleagues in the Presidential Administration Joe Bayiden in Washington. The meeting will affect the current state of bilateral relations between the United States and Russia.

“I will be back to the meeting of President Bayden and [Vladimir] Putin,” said Sullivan.

The fact that Sullivan will return to the United States to consult this week, Axios reported with reference to the representative of the State Department. The ambassador wants to hold his family and meet with members of the new administration, with whom he had no opportunity to consult since he agreed to continue the service in his post during an indefinite period.

On April 16, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the Kremlin advised US Ambassador in Moscow John Sullivan to go home to consult on the current relations of the two countries. According to the minister, an assistant president Yuri Ushakov was given such a recommendation.
