Gazprom prepared more to earn gas exports to Europe in the summer months, transfers TASS with reference to the company’s message.
According to Gazprom, European underground gas storage facilities (PCG) in April turned out to be empty due to the fact that the cold weather forced traders to extract and sell fuel from them. It created prerequisites for lower supply and demand growth in the summer.
“Europe lost almost a month of the gas injection season to the repository. April Cool returned European PCG to the selection regime. Postedness of storage facilities, for example, fell to 18 percent in the Netherlands, in Austria – up to 22 percent,” the release says.
It also notes there that European gas companies and traders have a little time left to replenish the reserves, which should turn into additional demand: “This means that gas injection mode will be even more rigid than previously.”
According to Gazprom, from the beginning of the heating season from European PCHs, a record 66.4 billion cubic meters of gas were selected. At the moment, they remain at 28.7 billion cubic meters of fuel less compared to the same period last year.
