Satellite Internet Starlink will be mobile until the end of the year. About this in its Twitter told the founder of Spacex Ilon Mask (Elon Musk).
Answering the question about whether the terminal will receive Starlink Mobile Satellite Internet, Ilon Mask replied affirmatively. “The terminal will be mobile so that you can move it anywhere or use in motion on a vehicle or truck,” said Mask. The entrepreneur promised that Starlink would remove the binding to geolocation until the end of the year. However, Mask said he wants to run a few more satellites into space to ensure the best coverage, and update the software.
Currently, StarLink subscribers cannot transfer the terminal to receive a signal from satellites to another address, except for the contract. To access the satellite Internet from Ilona Mask, it is still necessary to make a request for participation in the Beta testing program.
At the same time, in March, the mask was asked if he plans to transfer Starlink’s foster modules to their cars. Founder Spacex and Tesla said that at the moment connect the electrocars to the satellite Internet is not possible, since the terminal is quite cumbersome.
In early April, it became known that the transfer rate through satellite Internet Ilona Mask increased from 44 to 46-47 megabits per second. On the increase in speed and reducing the delay, the American entrepreneur spoke in March. The first part of the Satellites of the Global Network Project Starlink was launched in May 2019.
