Belarusian opposition announced the introduction of new sanctions against the authorities to the European Union. About this on Monday, April 19, reports in the Telegram-channel of the former presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya.
“This week is expected to announce the sanctions. Soon they will be announced the date of adoption of the fourth package of the EU sanctions, where about 70 people and the company will be preformed, – it is reported.
The European Union has already introduced three packages of sanctions, accusing the power of Belarus in the falsification of the presidential elections in August 2020 and repression against protesters. The USA, Britain, Baltic, Switzerland and Canada accepted its sanction lists. According to the Belarusian opposition, 208 people got under restrictions.
The sanctions of the European Union include a ban on entry, the freezing of assets, as well as the prohibition of EU Residents to provide access to financial resources and cooperate with the business entered in the “Black List”.
Presidential elections in Belarus took place on August 9, 2020. The CEC announced that Alexander Lukashenko ran up for the sixth sentence scored 80 percent of the votes, and Tikhanovskaya – 10 percent. It caused mass protests that continue for eight months. Lukashenko himself claims that external forces are worthy.
