The Star Shipyard began to build the third tanker gas model of the LNG class ARC 7. The first part of the future vessel was carved in the block production unit on a high-tech plasma machine. The production of vessels of this type on Russian shipyards is a unique event and one of the priority directions of the work program of the shipyard “Star”. About this “Lente.ru” reported in the press service of Rosneft.
Tankers-gas are built in the interests of NOVATEK for the project “Arctic SPG-2”. Financing of the project for the construction of new vessels is carried out by VEB.Rf. SSC “Star” and the company VEB.RF Group have concluded contracts for the construction of 15 gas carriers intended for transporting liquefied gas in the complex ice conditions of the Northern Sea Route. Courts will be operated in the framework of the long-term time-charter contracts of Companies “Sovcomflot” (on a pilot vessel) and Smart LNG (a subsidiary of the Sovcomflot and Novatek Group of Companies, for the remaining 14 ships of the series) with Arctic LNG 2 ( subsidiary company “Novatek”).
SSC “Star” – the first Russian shipyard that implements a project for the construction of such vessels. Tankers-gas LNG LNG class ARC 7 are designed to transport liquefied natural gas and are able to work in harsh climatic conditions. The length of the vessel is 300 meters, the width is 48.8 meters, the capacity of cargo tanks – 172.6 thousand cubic meters. Court data are characterized by increased environmental safety – they use liquefied natural gas as the main fuel.
The design of the vessel-gas model allows you to independently overcome ice with a thickness of more than 2 meters. The power of the power plant of the gas model is 45 megawatts. The vessel is equipped with three unique wine steering columns, the production of which is localized in a large stone at the Sapphire VRK plant – joint venture company Rosneft and GE companies.
A distinctive feature of gas tankers is the presence of a LNG storage system of a membrane type Mark III, a license for the construction of which shipyard also received the first in the country.
