Belarusian authorities banned the import of the German cosmetic company Nivea, who had refused to sponsor the World Hockey Championship, who had to go to Minsk and Riga. This is reported by BelTA agency with reference to the Ministry of Health of the countries.
“Specialists of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Service revealed a number of violations regarding the sale of such products without documents certifying the quality and safety, non-compliance with the term of the shelf life and the absence from the business control entities for the implementable perfumery and cosmetic products”, – The sentence says.
It is also noted that importers have repeatedly violated the procedure for labeling products, operating in the territory of the Customs Union of Russia and Belarus.
Among other things, the packaging, as stated, did not contain data on the organization authorized by the manufacturer to receive complaints and complaints. Also, the name of the products did not correspond to the ingredient composition.
The ban touched not only Nivea. In total, the Ministry of Health of Belarus forbade about three thousand units of perfumery and cosmetic products of various manufacturers to import into the country.
Nivea was one of the sponsors of the World Hockey Championship, which was supposed to be held in May-June 2021 in Minsk and Riga. However, in January, the company, along with other sponsors, refused to cooperate with the International Hockey Federation within the tournament, referring to numerous cases of human rights violations during protests after last year’s presidential elections. After that, all the championship games were transferred to the capital of Latvia.
