On the occasion of the big state holiday of the Cosmonautics Day and the 60th anniversary of the flight into space of Yuri Gagarin in the GKNPTS named after M.V. Khrunichev (included in the state corporation “Roskosmos”) held thematic and festive events. On the eve of the holiday, a meeting with Cosmonauts candidate for employees and their children held a meeting with Cosmonauts candidate from the enterprise Sergey Polevko, who received the qualifications of the test cosmonaut in 1999.
He spoke about the personal experience of the passage of general-grate preparation, interesting theoretical and practical tests necessary to work in the Earth orbit. Sergey Polevatko reinforced his story with photos and video materials from a personal archive, spoke about his professional way of engineer-designer KB “Salyut” – a member of the development of a number of nodes and mechanisms for Salute-7 orbital stations, “Peace” and modules of the International Space Station, Particularly involved in the pre-training modules.
During the meeting, the results of the internal corporate competition of children’s drawings “Cosmos by my eyes” dedicated to the holiday were summed up. This year received a record number of creative works. Therefore, the jury, which also entered Sergey Polevko, decided to increase the number of prizes. In addition to the traditional first, second and third place, each jury member chose an additional drawing at his discretion. According to the results of the competition, despite the determined winners, all young artists received prizes.
For high performance in the work of about forty employees of the GKNPC team named after M.V. Khrunichev was awarded with gratitude to the state corporation “Roskosmos”, medals of the Ministry of Defense named after Mikhail Kalashnikov and the diplomas of the general director of the enterprise.
