Baltic countries first completely abandoned electricity from Russia. Reports about it “Kommersant”.
According to the publication, Latvia, without explaining the reasons, there was a commercial import from Russia for two days, on April 8 and 11, during the Test Tests on the Shipping of the Lamp between Belorussia and Lithuania to test the power systems before the full yield of Baltic countries from Brell Energosol (Belarus, Russia , Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania).
These days in Russia, due to the cessation of export deliveries, the demand and prices for electricity have fallen. In the Baltic States, there was an inverse situation, for example, on April 8, Lithuania to compensate for imports raised the procurement of more expensive electricity from Poland and Sweden.
Lithuanian authorities, Estonia, Latvia decided to abandon the supply of electricity from Russia and Belarus and disconnect from the Brell energy college in 2019. Instead, countries intend to synchronize their energy systems in European countries and connect to the networks of the European Union by 2025. At the same time, the Baltic countries are already associated with the EU power system through Poland (Litpol Link), Sweden (NordBalt) and Finland (Estlink 1 and Estlink 2).
In January, it became known that Finnish Fingrid main network operator presented four plan for the development of the country’s energy system, three of which provide for a complete refusal of imports through the development of wind and solar power plants. The country is the largest buyer of Russian energy, the volume of supplies in 2020 reached 22 billion rubles, this is more than a third of the entire export. However, in the two planes, Finland in the future conceived to completely abandon the energy industry passing through the Vyborg.
