Coalition under the leadership of German Chancellor Angels Merkel decided to deprive heads of regions of authority to tighten or relax coronavirus restrictions, Bloomberg writes.
Chancellor administration has developed a bill that will deprive the heads 16 of federal land opportunities to tighten or weaken coronavirus restrictions. So far, the authorities of each German region can make such decisions on their own. The government will give the right to introduce restrictions due to COVID-19 throughout the country.
Chancellor intends to introduce a curfew from 21:00 to 05:00 in those regions where the incidence rate over the past seven days will exceed 100 cases per 100 thousand people three days in a row. Also in these lands will be closed non-food shops, and companies will be required to check their employees to Coronavirus twice a week.
On April 7, German Finance Minister, the main economy of Europe, Olaf Scholz stated the lack of conditions for the opening and resumption of all enterprises. According to him, Germany still will have a chance to fully cope with coronavirus and its consequences and ensure its own economy stable growth. Thus, the German authorities once again changed their opinion and changed their mind to make adjustments to the pandemic containment strategy.
