Book “Renia” in two volumes

State Scientific Center of the Russian Federation “Research Center named after M.V. Keldysh” (part of the state corporation “Roscosmos”) On the eve of the 60th anniversary of the world’s first flight in the world, a two-volume “Renia” was published in the world The implementation of the flight of Yuri Gagarin. Today, April 9, 2021, in the State Public Scientific and Technical Library of Russia as part of the opening of the exhibition exposition of the publications of state scientific centers of the Russian Federation, a presentation of the book took place.

The publication presents materials on the history of the first in our country and the world of the State Research and Design Organization for Reactive and Rocket Technology – Reactive Research Institute (RENNI), now “Research Center named after M. V. Keldysh” (Center Keldysh). The focus is on the activities of Renia in the period from his education in 1933 before the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. In this regard, the publication includes in the reprintful form related sections of the historical document – report 1951 “to the history of the development of domestic works on liquid rocket engines (EDD). The memories of prominent employees are given about work in Renia and its successors. Illuminated the contribution of the company to the implementation of the first flight of a person in space.

The publication consists of two books. The book 1 includes the presentation of the activities of Renia and who took the Research Institute in 1937 in 1937 during the period 1933-1941, memories of employees of the enterprise B. V. Rauhenbach, V. S. Budnika, V. P. Mishina, A. M. Isaeva , B. E. Dashtoka, as well as the section of the above report on the work of RENNIE on the EDD and aircraft based on them in the period 1933-1937.

Book 2 contains a section of the historical report on the works of NII-3 on the EDS and aircraft on their basis in the period 1937-1941, the history of work on the contribution of the enterprise to the flight of Yu. A. Gagarin. The publication is addressed to employees of the rocket and space industry, teachers and students of the relevant specialties of medium and higher educational institutions, all interested in the history of domestic rocket and space science and technology.

These books are prepared for the publication with the assistance of the Foundation named after the Sosmonaut of the USSR, the Hero of the Soviet Union A. A. Silver, within the framework of the project initiated by the Fund, dedicated to the pre-war period of development of rocket buildings in the USSR.
