Russia refused to run into space “Ark” with animals and plants in the coming years. This was told about the head of the Rocket and Space Center “Progress” Dmitry Baranov, RIA Novosti reports.

Baranov clarified that Bion-M biological satellite №2 will not redo the “Ark” spacecraft. Technically, it is possible to change its orbit with an near-emetic to high-elliptical, but for this you will have to remake the system of the ship. The idea refused due to the fact that in the technical launch of the next “biiona” tasks of flight to a higher orbit.

The launch dates “Biona-M” No. 2 are preserved old – it will fly to the previous orbit in 2023, added Baranov.

“Bion-M” No. 2 was planned to launch 20,000 kilometers over the Earth in 2024 for four weeks. It was proposed to change the scientific tasks of the apparatus mission previously scheduled for 2023, within which animals (mice, reptiles, insects, plants and microorganisms) were planned to send about 800 kilometers over the ground for a month, to the beginning of the inner radiation belt of the planet.
