From owners of refueling demanded explanations about increase in gasoline prices

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) demanded from the owners of refueling explanations about the reasons for rising gasoline prices. According to RBC, regional management services sent out the owners of the gas station letters, where they ask to substantiate the increase in the cost of fuel in retail since the beginning of the year.

The documents say that the gas station should have to answer FAS to provide detailed information on each occasion of the increase in fuel prices from January 1. As the representative of the service explained, the basis for the decision to enhance the monitoring was “unfair behavior of the market participants in separate regions.

According to Rosstat estimates, from March 23 to March 29, the prices for automotive gasoline rose by 0.3 percent, for diesel fuel – by 0.2 percent. At the same time, from the beginning of the year, gasoline on Russian gas stations has already risen in price by 2.9 percent, diesel fuel – by 1.4 percent.

On Thursday, April 8, Vtimes edition reported that in the government they wondered over a new way to combat gasoline prices, since the current measures do not work. The proposal was made a premiere assistant, the former head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) Igor Artemyev. In his opinion, the fight against the export of “individual petroleum products and their components” will protect the domestic market from pressure.
