In Kremlin recognized shortage of cheap labor for breakthrough

The number of foreign workers in Russia last year has been very much declined, they are currently not enough for breakthroughs in the development of the economy. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Sadkov, reports TASS.

The question was associated with the statement by the deputy head of the Presidential Administration of Magomedsalam Magomedov at the meeting on the implementation of the Strategy of the State National Policy of the country until 2025. He said that in 2020 the number of Russians negatively related to migrants increased by 7.5 percent.

In February, it was reported that Russian agrarians faced a critical lack of labor for seasonal work in the field and asked the authorities to open the border for migrants. Russian residents of the regions where the problem arose is not ready to occupy the available vacancies for the money that companies are offered, and the increase in their salaries can affect product costs.

Before that, the head of the Moscow Department of Construction Department, Rafik Zagotdinov noted that in Moscow construction, approximately 15-20 thousand workers are missing from abroad.

Meanwhile, the Associate Professor of the Financial University under the Government of Oleg Komolov explained that labor migrants were recently not going to Russia not only because of the coronavirus pandemic and closed borders. In his opinion, the main reason is weak economic growth and the fall of the ruble exchange rate, which make the work here is unattractive for visitors.
