Russian authorities gathered in a new way to assess the level of poverty of citizens. About this told the head of the Accounts Chamber Alexey Kudrin, RBC reports. According to him, now in the government consider the possibility of introducing a new criterion to determine it.
“I know that the government is considering another criterion in the level of poverty, based on this approach, which will be a little different,” he said and clarified that in the Accounts Chamber, these developments have not yet seen.
At the end of March, it became known that every fifth poor Russian remained without the help of the state. Then Kudrin approved the decision to pay benefits for children aged 3 to 7 years, explaining that they played a big role in the fight against poverty.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the level of poverty in the country in 2020 was 13.5 percent, and after ten years, thanks to the efforts of the authorities, it will fall to 6.5 percent. A year ago, the head of state noted that 70 percent of Russians can already be attributed to the middle class. According to him, it is enough to receive 17 thousand rubles per month for the corresponding to the middle class.
