On East spaceport began preparation for launch of OneWeb satellites

Today, April 6, 2021, preparations began on the East cosmodrome.

On the eve of 36 new spacecraft of OneWeb, belonging to the Government of Great Britain and the Bharti Global Group, arrived at Ignatievo Airport (Blagoveshchensk) on the An-124-100 aircraft. Specialists of the Space Center “Eastern” (branch of the center of exploitation of land-based space infrastructure facilities is included in the state corporation “Roskosmos”) delivered all 36 devices on a spacecraft.

To date, the OneWeb satellite group at a low near-earth orbit has 146 spacecraft, it is planned to launch hundreds of others. The upcoming launch must bring the number of ONEWEB spacecraft in orbit up to 182. OneWeb low-bit spacecraft are designed to provide land consumers with high-speed Internet directly through satellite communications.
