New American Sanctions in the field of exports associated with National Security, which recently entered into force, will affect less than one percent of US annual supply to Russia in monetary terms. It is reported by RBC with reference to the Statistics of the Industry and Security Bureau (BIS) of the US Montorgage.
Deputy Minister of Commerce and Industry of Russia Oleg Bocharov explained that many of the largest companies of the Russian Radio Electronic Industry are already in US sanctions lists, so import substitution on critical areas of technology – the process is permanent.
On March 17, the United States announced new trade sanctions against Russia. These restrictions will affect the exports associated with the National Security. Until September 1, 2021, exceptions are provided: in particular, on items associated with aviation, space and subjects for encryption and software technology.
These sanctions are continued restrictive measures introduced in early March. Then, nine companies from Russia were under the sanctions, three from Germany, and one from Switzerland. The documents said that sanctions against these organizations are introduced “for the dissemination activities in support of the Russian weapon program.”
