The United States will cooperate with Russia only in those areas where it meets their national interests. Such conditions for working with Moscow revealed US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, his words transfers TASS.
Blinken explained that one of these areas is strategic stability. As an example, the diplomat led the extension by the Country Countries on measures to further reduce and limit the strategic offensive arms (DSNV, an unofficial name – START-3).
Earlier, the spokesman for the White House, Jen Psaki, also mentioned the extension of START-3, speaking about contact points between US President Joe Biden and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. According to her, the heads of two state agree that it is necessary to look for ways to continue cooperation in those areas where the national interests of the two countries coincide.
In relations between Russia and the United States, a new crisis has come after the US President Joe Biden in an interview with ABC NEWS TV channel stated that he wants to call on the Russian state to answer the alleged interference in the US elections. He spoke about a conversation with the Russian leader Vladimir Putin and added that he would pay, if he would be guilty. In the same conversation, Biden made a sharp statement to the Russian president.
Moscow and Washington exchanged notes about the extension of the DSNV on February 3. The rocket contract will act as signed, until February 5, 2026.
