The head of Gazprom Alexei Miller warned about the serious financial problems of the company if it is obliged to go on Russian software on general reasons. He sent the appropriate letter to the premiere of Mikhail Mishuvina, RBC reports.
According to Miller, the cost of domestic software and equipment, if trying to complete the transition until 2025, will be 180 billion rubles. It will become too big one-time financial burden and negatively affect economic performance.
He proposed to exclude from the draft decree of the specific timing of the transition to Russian software that are currently spelled out. In the current version, refuse to use foreign software before January 1, 2024, and equipment – until 2025.
The representative of the Ministry of Fields confirmed that the letter is under consideration. This department participated in the development of the draft presidential decree.
Meanwhile, Miller in the letter noticed attention that Gazprom had previously applied to various ministries, but his proposals were not taken into account. The letter is attached to the comments of the first deputy head of Gazprom Oleg Aksyutina, which he sent to the Ministry of Industry 22 January.
In them, companies belonging to the subjects of a critical information infrastructure are invited to make an exception so that they themselves develop and approve plans for the transition to Russian software and equipment. Akshutin warned that the hurry in the case of oil and gas companies is dangerous, and such a serious modernization must be accompanied by a stop of the work of industrial facilities. After all, as a rule, there are uniform software and hardware complexes in such enterprises, it is simply impossible to change them in parts.
