Belorussian oppositionist, the former head of Belgazprombank Viktor Babariko during the court session refused to recognize the guilt into the crimes incriminated to him. This is reported by Telegram-channel Berta.
The rest of the seven top managers of Belgazprombank agreed with the accusation.
On Monday, March 22, after the announced break, consideration of the board of the Supreme Court of Belarus of the Criminal Condition against Babarico and still seven people resumed. In the courtroom there are relatives and close figures, as well as ambassadors of the European Union member countries.
Babarico is accused of part 3 of Article 430 (“Obtaining a bribe”) and part 2 of Article 235 (“Legalization of funds obtained by criminal means”) of the Belarusian Code of Belarus. According to investigators, the oppositionist is involved in the conclusion abroad of several hundred million dollars.
In addition, law enforcement agencies believe that “Russian docks from Gazprom” stood for the politician during the preparation for the presidential election. Babarico himself connects his conclusion with political persecution.
Protests continue in Belarus after the presidential election on August 9, 2020. Shares are rigidly suppressed by militia and riot police. Tens of thousands of people were detained, many told about torture and beating in insulators. Four people died in clashes with siloviki.
