Employees of White House were fired for use of marijuana

Dozens of young employees of the White House were removed from work or fired after they admitted to marijuana smoking in the States where it is permitted. This is reported by Edition The Daily Beast with reference to sources familiar with the situation.

In case of employment, future employees promised that the facts of using marijuana in the past will close their eyes. However, after the young people honestly pointed out in the documents that they used drugs, they were asked to write a letter of dismissal or transferred to remote work.

“We did not really explain the politics in this matter, no one explained where the trait goes between what was permissible and what was not,” said one of the suspended employees of the White House.

Use of marijuana for medical purposes is permitted by more than 30 US states. Last November, it was reported that marijuana’s legalization is more than two thirds of the US inhabitants. At the end of February, the legislators of the US state of Virginia approved the bill, which allows the use of marijuana in entertainment purposes since 2024.
