The United States sent two B-52H Stratofortress strategic bombers to the Middle East. Interfax reports this with reference to confirmation in the Pentagon.
According to air observers from the United States and Great Britain, the bombers that took off from the United States reached the borders of Iran, and then returned. During this extended flight, they were accompanied by fighters from Israel, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
Such flights are carried out regularly by the US Air Force. In November last year, the US military explained that their goal is “to contain aggression and to confirm the support of US partners and allies,” that is, to demonstrate military force. This particular non-stop flight demonstrates the ability of the Americans to quickly deploy their bombers.
