Zakharova explained congratulations of Western countries on March 8

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova spoke about the congratulations of the Western countries on March 8, RIA Novosti reports.

According to the diplomat, women colleagues in recent years congratulate more actively than men. “In recent years – you probably know about this trend – women have begun to congratulate women more. Earlier, ten years ago, it was a purely occasion for men to congratulate women. Now there are a lot of postcards from women. And I congratulate women too,” – said Zakharova. She added that just before the interview with the agency, she received a beautiful postcard from a female ambassador.

Zakharova confirmed that her colleagues from the countries of the “collective West” also congratulate her. The representative of the Foreign Ministry said that basically this day is not celebrated in Western countries. “But some representatives of the postcards send and run into mirror measures,” she joked.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has already congratulated all women on March 8. According to him, this is a day of celebration of love, admiration and gratitude, and this holiday has also become a good tradition that helps to preserve moral values. It is also a symbol of the coming spring and creates a special mood, the Russian leader said.
