Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov announced the preparation of proposals for the indexation of pensions for working pensioners. According to him, the developments have already been transferred to the presidential administration, TASS reports.
At a meeting of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, he indicated that the proposals were prepared on behalf of the country’s President Vladimir Putin. According to Kotyakov, the result will be in the near future.
In early March, the speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko said that money for the indexation of payments to working pensioners could be found in the next budget cycle. In turn, the head of the State Duma Committee on Labor and Social Policy Yaroslav Nilov said that the deputies from the Liberal Democratic Party are planning to introduce a bill that removes the restriction on the recalculation of pensions for working pensioners.
The first proposals for indexing received by the Kremlin were reported back on February 1. No reaction in the presidential administration is known.
Pensions for working pensioners stopped increasing back in 2016. The reason for this was the saving of the Pension Fund budget. In December 2020, Putin said that in order to return the indexation, it is necessary to find money for this. The head of state noted that the authorities are thinking how to resolve the issue.
