Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova accused European countries of a political game around vaccines, which, according to the diplomat, they prefer to the health of their own citizens. Her words, said on the air of the TV channel “Russia-24”, reports TASS.
“If they [countries] believe that during a pandemic (…) they, having the opportunity to interact with the countries where this vaccine is being developed, prefer political fuss over the sanity and health of their people, then I do not wonder if they will return into the bosom of normality, will there be a thaw there, “Zakharova said, adding that in this case, these are already problems of Europe.
The Foreign Ministry spokeswoman also noted that problems with European solidarity “fell out of the basket like dirty laundry” in 2020. She also stressed that Europe has presented itself in an unfavorable light and is trying to hide it.
On March 5, the representative of the European Commission (EC) Eric Mamer said that European countries are allowed to independently purchase the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine, without waiting for approval from the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
