General changes in Chrome 89 :
- The Android version of Chrome will now only run on devices certified with Play Protect. In virtual machines and emulators, Chrome for Android can be used if a valid device is emulated or the emulator is developed by Google. You can check whether the device is certified or not you can in the Google Play app in the settings section (on the page with settings at the very bottom the status is shown ” Play Protect certification “). For non-certified devices, for example, when using third-party firmware, users are encouraged to register their devices to run Chrome.
- For a small percentage of users, the default opening of sites via HTTPS is enabled when typing hostnames in the address bar. For example, if you enter the host example.com, it will default to https://example.com, and if you have problems opening it, it will rollback to https://example.com. The “chrome: // flags # omnibox-default-typed-navigations-to-https” setting is suggested to control the default “https: //” usage.
