Women take to streets in bikinis to protest luxury brand

Activists took to the streets half naked to protest the use of reptile skin to create accessories for the luxury brand Hermes. The Daily Mail reports.

The action was attended by three women representing PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) – an organization fighting for animal rights. They were photographed outside the boutique of a French fashion house on one of the central streets of Sydney. The activists wore identical mint-colored swimsuits and masks that mimic the face of a crocodile. In their hands they held signs depicting a red crocodile Hermes Birkin bag, each printed with slogans such as “animals die because of their exotic skins”.

According to the publication, in November last year, the Hermes company was criticized after announcing plans to build Australia’s largest crocodile farm in an area near Darwin. The activists, in turn, again tried to draw public attention to this problem and opposed the use of the luxury brand of animal skins.

In December 2020, activists attacked entrepreneur and TV star Kylie Jenner because of her love for fur. The protesters attacked the businesswoman while shopping at the Moncler brand boutique. So, those present began to criticize her for her love of fur.
