The first transgender South Korean soldier to be discharged from the army after a secret gender reassignment has been found dead. This was reported by ABC TV channel.
The body of 23-year-old Byung Soo Hwee was found in her home in the city of Cheongju. No cause of death has been reported.
Byung Soo Hwee joined the army even a man and rose to the rank of sergeant. She suffered from depression caused by gender identity issues and secretly changed her gender while on vacation in Thailand. After surgery Hwi Su expected to continue to serve with other women soldiers, but she was dismissed from the army and dismissed the petition for reinstatement of rank.
Earlier it was reported that British midwives in Brighton and Sussex will be prohibited from using the word “mother” and other words related exclusively to the female sex when discussing maternity issues with patients. The new language policy for healthcare is designed to protect the feelings of transgender people.
