Sber’s non-financial business at the end of 2020 received a profit before tax of 8.6 billion rubles against a loss of 1.5 billion a year earlier, follows from the group’s reporting. The agency of economic information “Prime” informs about it.
The revenue of this segment of the group’s business grew 2.7 times over the past year, to 71.4 billion rubles. The value of their assets also rose sharply – by 3.5 times, to 136.6 billion rubles.
The non-financial business of the group is represented in the following sub-segments: e-commerce, services in the field of transport and food, entertainment, health, mobile cellular communications, “gadgets”, job search, B2B services, selection and support of real estate transactions, also covers a number of other spheres.
Sberbank also increased its payment business profit before tax by one third in 2020 – up to 204.9 billion rubles.
Over the past few years, Sberbank has been building its ecosystem, within which non-financial services are also represented in a number of industries, including medicine, telecommunications, and e-commerce. With this in mind, Sberbank is increasingly becoming a technology company. As a result, in September the bank’s ecosystem was named Sberbank.
