The German concern Uniper, which is the financial partner of Nord Stream 2, estimates the pipeline’s readiness to be 98 percent. This is reported by TASS.
The company is looking forward to the completion of the construction of Nord Stream 2 and considers the project important for ensuring energy security in Europe. “We think the situation is pretty good. Russia promises to complete construction, we do not see any technical risks,” Uniper top managers said.
Earlier, the administration of US President Joe Biden was called upon to “check and checkmate” the gas pipeline and not give up pressure on European companies.
The construction of Nord Stream 2 was frozen in December 2019 due to sanctions from Washington. In February of this year, the barge Fortuna resumed laying pipes in Danish waters. Work on this section is scheduled to be completed in April, and the pipeline will be completed by the end of the year. Certification and insurance of the route remain unsolved problems. At least 18 European companies have refused to cooperate with Nord Stream 2 AG. This was due to the threat of US sanctions.
