At a meeting with members of the government, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko revealed the details of negotiations with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. BelTA informs about it in its Telegram-channel.
“After the talks in Sochi and the issues that were raised during these negotiations with the Russian President, we agreed that we will discuss a number of issues at the level of the leaders of the government and the power bloc (…). We have identified these issues. We wrote a lot. about this meeting. Unfortunately, 70 percent is complete nonsense and inventions. I’m not even going to list all the issues that were discussed now, “he said.
Lukashenko added that he discussed dozens of issues with Putin. At the same time, literally all the problems of Belarusian-Russian relations were revised and discussed, he said.
According to him, at the meeting, in particular, they discussed interaction in the format of the Union State, issues of cooperation, military and military-technical cooperation, implementation of joint projects, opposition to various challenges, including external ones.
Putin and Lukashenko met on February 22 in Sochi. During the talks, the Belarusian president thanked his Russian counterpart for supporting the economy and noted that the money received “was not wasted.” In addition, Lukashenko called the Russian vaccine against coronavirus Sputnik V the most effective in the world.
The politicians also went skiing and snowmobiling that day.
The day after the meeting, February 23, Putin and Lukashenko talked on the phone. According to media reports, they discussed the functioning of the tax system, issues of cooperation in the military-industrial complex (MIC), strengthening joint defense systems, the topic of the Union State.
