FreeRDP 2.3, a free implementation of RDP protocol released

Published new release of the project FreeRDP 2.3 , offering a free implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol), developed by based on specs Microsoft. The project provides a library for integrating RDP support into third-party applications and a client that can be used to remotely connect to a Windows desktop. Project code distributed under Apache 2.0 license.

New version:

  • Added the ability to use the Websocket protocol for proxy connections.
  • Improved wlfreerdp, client for Wayland based environments.
  • The X11 client xfreerdp added support for working in the XWayland environment (keyboard capture has been fixed).
  • Improvements have been made to the codec to minimize the occurrence of graphical artifacts when manipulating windows.
  • Improved glyph cache (+ glyph-cache), which now works correctly without breaking connections.
  • Added support for transferring large files via the clipboard.
  • Added a setting to manually override the keyboard scancode binding.
  • Improved mouse wheel scrolling.
  • Added a new type of notification PubSub, allowing the client to track the current state of the connection.
