President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov presented a sword to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin during a visit to Moscow. He spoke about this in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
“I brought a beautiful sword to Russian President Vladimir Putin as a gift. This sword was made by very good craftsmen in Kyrgyzstan,” Japarov said.
He also revealed some details of the bilateral meeting that took place in the Kremlin. As it became known, Japarov asked Putin to include labor migrants in the coronavirus vaccination program.
On February 24, during a visit to Moscow, Zhaparov assured that Kyrgyzstan will further strengthen its strategic partnership with Russia.
Previously, Japarov published an article about Russia entitled “Allied Ties”. In it, he revealed the history of relations between the Russian and Kyrgyz peoples in the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as the current state of bilateral relations. “Thanks to integration projects and its power, Russia provides peace along the perimeter of the state border, forms a dynamically developing region around itself,” Zhaparov wrote.
On January 28, at the inauguration ceremony, Japarov thanked Russia for helping to stabilize the situation after the October events. He promised that Kyrgyzstan will continue to pursue a multi-vector policy, strengthening relations with strategic partners.
On January 16, the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Kyrgyzstan announced the victory of Japarov in the early presidential elections with 79.23 percent of the vote. His inauguration took place on January 28. As a presidential candidate, Japarov described post-election relations with Russia. He stated: “This is our most important strategic partner.”
