Estonia spoiled 300 doses of AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine

In Estonia, 300 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine were damaged during transportation to a children’s hospital. The portal rus.err informs about it.

According to the carrier company, the required temperature regime was maintained in their car.

“During transportation, the temperature should be from plus 2 to plus 8 degrees, but during the stay at the site, it was found that the temperature in the box was 10 degrees,” said Director General of the Health Department Yullar Lanno.

In this case, the transportation of the drug from the warehouse of the Department of Health, where it is stored in the necessary conditions, was handled by Magnum Logistics. According to the head of the company Raivo Roolide, the reason for the violation of the temperature regime could be the actions of doctors.

“Since the thermal box itself is quite small, and when it is opened, the temperature on the surface, of course, can be much higher, and the bottom is colder. But this is purely my assumption,” Roolide added.

The Estonian Health Board is currently investigating the incident.

Earlier it became known that 79 doctors of the Vilnius clinic “Santara”, vaccinated with BioNTech and Pfizer vaccines, were diagnosed with coronavirus in Lithuania.
