A “Russian” hacker has stolen the identities of 22 American soldiers who were awarded the Medal of Honor, the highest US military award. The Daily Beast reports.
According to the American publication, the criminal purchased goods worth 55 thousand dollars through a network of stores for the military in the United States under a false name. With the help of a network of couriers, the purchases were delivered to more than 20 different addresses in the United States, and then forwarded to Russia. It is noted that the US Secret Service began searching for the attacker who stole the personal data of American heroes.
Earlier, the head of the General Intelligence and Security Service of the Netherlands (AIVD) Eric Ackerbom spoke about the catching of hackers from Russia and China, which allegedly happens every day. He added that the targets of criminals are usually companies, educational institutions and vital infrastructure.
